Dr. Michael Atteberry is originally from Atchison, Kansas where he graduated from Benedictine College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 2006. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry in 2010 where he was a Gold Key Member and a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. He is currently an active member of the American Optometric Association, is the Northeast Kansas zone president of the Kansas Optometric Association and participates in the See To Learn program.

Dr. Atteberry opened Atteberry Eye Center in 2010 at the same time he bought into Dr. Malone’s practice in Topeka. He splits his time between the two locations where he practices primary care optometry with an interest in contact lenses and disease management.

Dr. Atteberry currently resides in Lawrence with his wife, Kadi and their three daughters; Charlie, Sadie and Kacy. They have two dogs; a boxer named Daisy and a lhasapoo named Tucker. While not practicing optometry, he enjoys working on his house, wood working, playing guitar and football.

Dr. Whitney Coleman is a native of Valley Falls, Kansas. She attended Washburn University as a scholarship member of the Leadership Institute and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry where she was President of the American Optometric Student Association. In 2010, she graduated with honors earning her Doctor of Optometry.

Dr. Coleman joined Atteberry Eye Center in 2014. She is a member of both the Kansas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Dr. Coleman and her husband Brian have two children, a son Rowan and a daughter Ramsey. Outside of the office, Dr. Coleman enjoys spending time with family, being active and watching the Royals, Chiefs and her beloved Jayhawks.
